Election Time

It’s that time again…that time that only comes once every 4 years- Presidential ELECTION TIME!  If you’re like me, you’re probably having a hard time remembering when television ads weren’t political, or when Facebook was anything other than bitter political battles.  As annoying as all this political talk is, passion is important because voting is the only way to see the changes you want in this country.  The government touches several aspects of your everyday life: healthcare, the environment we live in, education, and the list goes on and on.  Too many people have sacrificed too much for us to have a democracy where all voices can be heard to not exercise that right, so I hope you all had the chance to get out there and vote!  This was my first year voting in the polls.  In the previous election I voted absentee ballot (sometimes that’s easier when you’re a college student).  There was a line at the polling place, but because of the part of town I’m from, I was able to go into a different room with no line at all!  I was a little surprised to see paper ballots (instead of electronic), but a vote is a vote all the same!
